Position Summary
This position will facilitate the research climate at UNMC by assisting faculty and administrators in proposal submission and award processing and management. Specifically, this position will: (1) provide leadership in the administration and coordination of the pre-award and non-financial post award management of sponsored projects supported by federal, state, private, industry and other sponsors, (2) lead and manage the research development initiatives of SPA , (3) direct the daily work flow in the SPA office related to the submission of sponsored projects, (4) fulfill the duties of the director in the director’s absence.

Technical Knowledge
- A thorough knowledge and understanding of the guidelines, laws and regulations of governmental and private sponsors relating to research grants and agreements to include the Federal Acquisition Regulations, Office of Management and Budget Circular’s A-21, A-110, A-133
- Advanced technical competence in wide range of research compliance issues
- Experienced and proficient in balancing regulatory compliance requirements against practical needs and limitations
- Advanced working knowledge of contracting principles
