Job summary

Georgia State University is seeking an Assistant Director of Technology within the Office of Student Financial Services, Financial Aid. This role leads daily operations of financial aid systems, ensures accurate processing, and partners with IT to implement system enhancements while supporting student service delivery.

The position supervises a Senior Financial Aid Counselor and a Business Systems Analyst, driving prioritization, performance, and staff development in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years supervisory/management experience or equivalent.
• Experience in higher education or Student Financial Services preferred.
• Familiarity with Banner or similar student information systems.
• Experience with reporting tools or basic SQL.
• Experience with Argos or similar reporting platforms.
• Collaborative, energetic and resourceful work style.
• Excellent oral and written communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal and supervisory abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and maintain attention to detail with customer service focus.
• Five years of management experience in financial aid or state aid office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead technology operations and system support for financial aid platforms.
• Configure and maintain financial aid processes and data exchanges between Banner, CampusLogic, and ED platforms.
• Identify opportunities to improve workflows and implement system enhancements.
• Supervise a Senior Financial Aid Counselor and a Business Systems Analyst, prioritizing work.
• Serve as liaison between Student Financial Services, IT and vendors; engage stakeholders.
• Support data integrity and reporting needs related to financial aid processing.
