Job summary

San Jose State University’s Financial Aid and Scholarship Office is seeking an Associate Director of Financial Aid Operations and Technology to lead technology-supported services for administering student financial aid programs. This role oversees operations, customer service initiatives, regulatory updates, and automated processes, and provides guidance to both operations and technical staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
5+ years of progressive management experience in financial aid administration.
3+ years of direct supervisory experience.
2+ years overseeing technical administration of a system.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership for technology-supported financial aid services.
Manage electronic processes and data transfers with EDConnect, California Student Aid Commission, Department of Education, and COD.
Oversee technical processing and reporting for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
Develop and implement office-wide technical goals, policies, processing protocols, and procedures.
Manage financial aid communications throughout the application cycle and coordinate student messaging with Enrollment Services.
Serve as security administrator for the PeopleSoft financial aid module and ensure appropriate system access and FERPA compliance.
