Job summary

Floor & Decor in Ohio is seeking a Training and Development Specialist to lead the onboarding and ongoing development of Product Sales Specialists. You will empower associates to deliver exceptional customer service, share comprehensive product information, and create a positive shopping experience for every guest.

The role emphasizes teaching the basics of retail—People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion—while ensuring accurate pricing, proper merchandising, and safe work

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with the company's core values.
• Demonstrate understanding of safe lifting practices and SOPs.
• Teach the basic P’s of retail (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing).
• Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure attentive customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Understand merchandise and installation.
• Ensure department merchandising, pricing and organization.
• Communicate SOP changes to associates promptly.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist with processing merchandise to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers courteously and assist with questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout and handle refunds/exchanges per guidelines.
• Present how-to classes to customers.
