Job summary

Core Scientific, Inc. seeks an Assistant Critical Facilities Manager to support onsite data center operations in Auburn, AL.

You will assist with the management of critical infrastructure, train and build a skilled technician team, and help ensure 100% uptime while coordinating with contractors and customers. You will monitor power and cooling, support 24x7 shifts, and help lead construction-to-operations transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments.
• 1+ year of direct shift-based supervisory experience.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Experience building a critical infrastructure preventive maintenance program.
• Experience establishing a new colocation data center, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day operation and maintenance of data center infra.
• Build staff of technicians to deliver 100% uptime while minimizing risks.
• Manage power and cooling capacity and monitor environmental conditions.
• Support 24x7 data center operations and on-call coverage.
• Resolve electrical, mechanical, and fire protection system issues.
• Assist in leadership: coordinate construction and commissioning.
• Review preventive maintenance inspections and guide fixes.
• Oversee CMMS accuracy and reporting.
• Enforce adherence to SLAs and change control activities.
• Coordinate work with outside contractors and vendors.
• In absence of manager, assume leadership role.
• Assist with site tours for customers.
• Manage work schedules and assignments.
• Foster open, professional communication within team and across org.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
