Job summary

Core Scientific, Inc. seeks an Assistant Manager, Critical Facilities, to oversee day-to-day data center operations and ensure 100% uptime through skilled staff, strong safety practices, and reliable infrastructure.

You will manage power, cooling, and environmental monitoring, while coordinating construction and facility transitions. You will lead a team of technicians, liaise with contractors, and uphold customer SLAs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, technical school emphasis on mission-critical operations or high-performance manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience in mission-critical environments.
• 1+ year(s) of direct management of non-exempt shift-based employees.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Experience in creating and managing a critical infrastructure preventive maintenance program.
• Experience establishing a new colocation data center or data hall, preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical and non-critical data center infrastructure, equipment, and systems.
• Build a staff of technicians to deliver 100% uptime while minimizing risks for customers.
• Manage power and cooling capacity and monitor environmental conditions in data halls.
• Support 24/7 data center operations and maintenance activities; cover shifts as needed.
• Lead and coordinate data center construction and commissioning, and oversee transition to sustainable operations.
• Review preventive maintenance results and guide corrective actions.
• Maintain CMMS ownership, accuracy, and reporting; produce operational reports.
• Enforce adherence to SLAs and change control activities; coordinate work with contractors.
• Assist with site tours for current and future customers.
• Foster professional communication within the team and across the organization.
