Job summary

Willdan seeks an Assistant Construction Manager to help deliver design and construction projects. You will assist with planning, scheduling, documentation, reporting, and stakeholder coordination to ensure client requirements are met.

You will work with Project Managers and Construction Managers to maintain project controls, track progress, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure adherence to document control procedures while delivering high-quality work.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management preferred.
• 1–3 years related experience in construction industry or government work.
• Ability to manage detailed processes and problem solve quickly in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong customer service background with proven customer satisfaction results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and document control.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, accounting statements, and technical procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with project stakeholders to support coordination and documentation.
• Assist Project Managers and Construction Managers in all project phases with documentation and logistics.
• Provide administrative support to field staff.
• Document safety compliance standards in the field.
• Support project stakeholders in maintaining project data management systems.
• Support billing procedures and timely processing of invoicing.
• Review specs and drawings and track critical path items.
• Manage meeting minutes and distribute to stakeholders.
• Ensure timely reviews for RFIs and Submittals with engineers.
• Assemble close-out documents and address non-compliant contractors for compliance.
• Prepare and communicate ad-hoc reports as required.
