Job summary

Madison Reed Hair Color Bar is seeking an Assistant Colorist to support licensed colorists and the shift lead, ensuring a seamless guest experience from arrival to departure while learning the services and products. You will assist with consultations, shampooing, conditioning, and basic color-related tasks, while keeping the work area clean and organized.

The role offers a pay range of $27–$28 per hour, plus tips and commissions.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where you are applying.
• Entry-level customer service or retail experience; salon/beauty industry preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced retail or salon.
• Comfortable operating point-of-sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to deliver a guest experience aligned with our values.
• Assist behind-the-chair: shampooing, finishing services, styling, blowouts, toner.
• Help achieve monthly sales goals and KPIs (retail, services, memberships).
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security of the Hair Color Bar.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
• Drive revenue through upselling memberships, subscriptions, home hair care, etc.
