Job summary

Madison Reed, Inc. invites applications for an Assistant Colorist at the Hair Color Bar location. You will support licensed colorists with guest services, consultations, shampooing, conditioning, and basic styling while learning color theory and professional techniques.

The role offers base hourly pay plus commissions and tips, with potential earnings reported between $21.50 and $22.50 per hour. Training for promotion to Licensed Colorist is provided over 3–9 months.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying is required.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail/salon environment preferred.
• Strong communication and problem solving in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems and handling transactions.

Responsibilities

• Assist behind-the-chair services and shampooing; help with finishing services, styling, blowouts and treatments.
• Support licensed colorists and shift lead to ensure guest satisfaction from arrival to departure.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals through retail and services, memberships, and add-ons.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security of the Hair Color Bar.
• Adhere to Madison Reed policies and procedures and learn color theory for future growth.
• Promote revenue through memberships, subscriptions, and product sales.
• Assist in learning and training toward promotion to Licensed Colorist.
