Madison Reed, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Colorist at the Hair Color Bar in California. You will support Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead, learn services, assist guests, and gain hands-on color experience while preparing for promotion.

The role offers base hourly pay plus commissions and tips, with earnings estimated at $28–$30 per hour at this location. Flexible full- or part-time schedules, training, and opportunities to advance to a Licensed Colorist within 3–9 months.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the applying state.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail; salon or beauty industry preferred.
• Effective communication, strong problem solving and people skills in fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Provide guest experience aligned with company values.
• Assist behind the chair: finishing services, shampooing, conditioning, styling, blowouts, toner and add-ons.
• Support monthly sales goals: retail, services, memberships.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory and asset security.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies and procedures.
• Grow revenue by increasing average service ticket and selling memberships/subscriptions.
• Participate in Colorist training and progression toward licensed status.
