Madison Reed Hair Color Bar in California seeks an Assistant Colorist in training to support Licensed Colorists and contribute to guest experience. You will learn color theory, assist with shampoos and blowouts, and help guests find the best color while maintaining a welcoming, organized workspace.

This role offers base hourly pay, commissions, and tips, with potential earnings reflecting peak performance. Training for promotion to a Licensed Colorist is expected within 3–9 months.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail; salon/beauty industry preferred.
• Effective communication, problem solving and people skills in fast-paced retail/salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide guest experience aligned with company values.
• Perform behind-the-chair services such as shampooing, conditioning, styling, blowouts, and toner applications.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals including retail, services, and memberships.
• Ensure the Hair Color Bar meets cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security standards.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
• Drive revenue by increasing average service tickets and promoting memberships and subscriptions.
• Learn and complete Assistant Colorist to Colorist Training to grow within Madison Reed.
