Job summary

Madison Reed is hiring an Assistant Colorist at the Hair Color Bar in California. You will support Licensed Colorists and the Shift Lead, handle consultations, color care products, shampooing, conditioning, and blowouts, while learning the business and building guest relationships.

This role is a stepping stone to becoming a Licensed Colorist within 3–9 months, with part-time or full-time availability. Compensation includes base hourly pay, commissions and tips, with earnings range $28-$30 per

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where you are applying.
• Entry level experience in customer service or retail; salon/beauty industry preferred.
• Effective communication, problem solving and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate teamwork to provide a guest experience aligned with company values.
• Perform behind-the-chair services such as assisting in finishing services, shampooing, conditioning, styling and add-on applications.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and KPIs including retail and services.
• Ensure the Hair Color Bar meets company standards for cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and asset security.
• Adhere to Madison Reed systems, policies, processes and procedures.
• Drive revenue by increasing average service tickets, memberships, subscriptions, and home care sales.
• Support learning and growth through colorist training for progression to Licensed Colorist.
• Assist in colorist training to develop color theory and practical skills.
