Job summary

Sweetgreen in California is seeking an Assistant Coach (Assistant General Manager) to lead the team, drive operations, and deliver exceptional guest experiences using data‑driven insights to build healthier communities through real food.

You’ll mentor staff, partner with the Head Coach to set goals, manage schedules, control costs, uphold food safety, and ensure smooth in‑store and digital guest journeys while developing future leaders.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a restaurant management/supervisory role.
• Experience managing and developing 6+ team members per shift.
• Food Handler or ServSafe certification.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Mentor team members to become future leaders and partner with the Head Coach to set goals and track performance.
• Use data‑driven insights to navigate challenges and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
• Support operational excellence by managing schedules and controllable costs, and executing short‑ and long‑term strategies.
• Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance, and effective use of systems for smooth daily operations.
