Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Davenport, IA is seeking a motivated Assistant Club Manager in Training (AMIT) to develop leadership talent and drive club performance across Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience.

The AMIT oversees daily operations, recruits and onboards team members, manages labor scheduling, drives sales and inventory control, and ensures a safe, high‑quality member experience aligned to GOLD standards.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in retail store or warehouse operations management.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead large teams.
• Knowledge of store operations, merchandising, customer service, and omni procedures.
• Completion of company training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership with accountability for daily operations across assigned departments.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members including staffing decisions and certifications.
• Oversee labor planning and scheduling aligned with trends and budgets.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management to optimize performance.
• Model and enforce Gold standards (GAA/GOLD) and ensure a premium member experience.
• Maintain equipment and facilities and support cross-functional initiatives.
