Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Project Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. This role focuses on energy project site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling across the U.S.

The ideal candidate will support planning, design, and execution of projects, collaborating with CAD designers, GIS analysts, environmental scientists, and regulators to deliver sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Three (3) years of experience in civil engineering, specifically site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management design, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables for assigned projects.
• Design stormwater management systems and erosion control measures.
• Conduct analyses for utility crossings to minimize environmental impact while meeting requirements.
• Prepare construction drawings, specs, and contract documents with regulatory compliance.
• Support permitting with regulatory documentation for SWPPPs and erosion control measures.
• Assist hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for stormwater design and drainage scenarios.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental science and engineering principles.
• Provide construction-phase services and monitor progress on site.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate goals and progress.
• Mentor junior staff and foster knowledge sharing.
