Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants seeks a Project Civil Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. The role focuses on energy project site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic modeling across the U.S.

The candidate will lead projects, mentor staff, and contribute to business development while collaborating with CAD designers, GIS analysts, and regulators. The position is full-time with benefits and offers hybrid or distributed remote work options

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering required.
• Four years of civil engineering experience in site design, erosion control, stormwater, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
• Professional Engineer license in PA, OH, IL, FL, or TX or ability to obtain via reciprocity.

Responsibilities

• Leads management of projects: schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client communications.
• Designs stormwater systems and erosion controls.
• Performs analyses for utility crossings minimizing environmental impacts.
• Prepares construction drawings and contract documents.
• Oversees permitting: SWPPPs and erosion controls with agency coordination.
• Performs hydrologic/hydraulic modeling to support design and evaluate drainage scenarios.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to integrate environmental science into designs.
• Provides construction-phase support and on-site problem solving.
• Engages with clients and stakeholders to advance business development.
• Mentors junior staff and fosters knowledge sharing.
• Ensures compliance with regulations and standards.
