Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Project Civil Engineer to support energy project site civil design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling. The role offers hybrid or distributed work arrangements and open to candidates at multiple SWCA office locations across the U.S., including Houston.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering.
• 3 years of experience in civil engineering, site design, erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee technical tasks, schedules, budgets, and deliverables for assigned projects.
• Design stormwater management systems and erosion control measures.
• Conduct analyses for utility crossings and environmental considerations.
• Prepare construction drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Support permitting with stormwater management and erosion control plans.
• Model hydrologic and hydraulic scenarios to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate science and engineering.
• Provide on-site construction-phase support and progress monitoring.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to communicate goals and progress.
• Mentor junior staff and foster knowledge sharing.
• Adhere to applicable regulations and company standards.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
