Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer for Data Center Facilities in Amarillo/Claude, TX to oversee mission-critical data center operations, mentor technicians, and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure reliability.

You will work with the Chief Engineer to optimize power, cooling, and network reliability, manage incidents, and lead capacity planning while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure, including power distribution, cooling systems, and network architecture.
• Familiarity with industry standards (ASHRAE, TIA, Uptime Institute).
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency with facility management software and building automation systems.
• Valid CDCP or DCPRO certification (or equivalent).
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data center facility operations and maintenance activities.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Monitor critical systems performance (power, cooling, network).
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead capacity planning and infrastructure upgrades.
• Respond to incidents and manage emergencies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and clients.
• Be the first point of contact for service-impacting events in electrical distribution.
