Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer, Data Centers to lead the operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center environments on-site in Amarillo. You will partner with the Chief Engineer to drive reliability, efficiency, and safety across facilities, manage diverse technical teams, and coordinate with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data center operations and management.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure including power distribution and cooling systems.
• Familiarity with ASHRAE, TIA, and Uptime Institute standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee data center facility operations and maintenance in collaboration with the Chief Engineer.
• Supervise and mentor engineers, technicians, and contractors; manage performance.
• Monitor critical systems: power, cooling, and network infrastructure.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
• Ensure safety, security, and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies with timely resolution.
• Prepare technical reports and management presentations.
• Serve as first point of contact for service-impacting events in the electrical distribution system.
