Job summary

Centerline is seeking an experienced Assistant Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP function, supervise and develop staff, and ensure accurate, timely payments. You will strengthen internal controls, partner with Finance and Operations, and drive process improvements across a growing organization.

You will manage high-volume AP processing, ensure policy compliance, and support audits and SOX controls. A collaborative, detail-oriented leader with strong communication skills is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounts payable experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.
• Strong knowledge of AP processes, GAAP, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with AP automation tools is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, growing environment.
• This position will require in office presence 3 days a week. (West Bridgewater, MA.-Roswell, GA.)

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the accounts payable team, including supervise, train, and mentor AP Staff, assign daily workloads and handle performance reviews.
• Oversee high-volume invoice processing, PO matching, coding accuracy, and payment approvals.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policy, and applicable regulations, including 1099 reporting
• Act as an escalation point for complex vendor discrepancies, processing errors, and payment rejections.
• Monitor and improve AP metrics such as days payable outstanding (DPO), invoice cycle time, and on-time payment rate
• Manage month-end close activities related to AP, including accruals and account reconciliations
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and implement automated procurement to pay (P2P) solutions.
• Assist with internal and external audits, manage SOX compliance controls, and support month-end close activities like accruals
