Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to safeguard customers, teams, and inventory. You will partner with the store Emergency Response Team to respond to emergencies and protect profits by preventing theft and shrinkage.

The role emphasizes using video systems, RFID data, and thorough reporting. You will lead security audits, participate in store meetings, and support training for shrinkage awareness.

Qualifications

• A valid security license is required in applicable locations.
• The ability to make and be accountable for decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Calm demeanor when handling safety issues and potential aggressors.
• Flexibility to work a schedule based on business needs.
• Meet state/local licensing requirements; prior investigative or asset protection experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft with policy-aligned, quality apprehensions in high shrinkage areas.
• Identify theft trends using technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans and protection standards.
• Identify and support internal theft investigations via exception reporting and surveillance systems.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and coordinating with AP leadership.
