Position Summary:

Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Minimum Qualifications and Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field; or equivalent education and experience.
  • Retail security or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Ability to pursue further education.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum age: 18 years (21 in Alaska).
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention concepts and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and detain theft suspects.
  • Prevent internal and external theft through proactive actions.
  • Monitor large shrink areas.
  • Report incidents to asset protection management.
  • Support customer and associate relations through effective communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony when needed.
  • Identify areas with high theft risk.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Support and promote company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  • Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
