Job summary

Nordstrom Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection professional in Seattle, WA to safeguard customers, associates and merchandise while partnering with the Emergency Response Team.

You will lead investigations, monitor activity with video and RFID data, conduct security audits and participate in store trainings to reduce shrinkage and protect physical spaces. The role requires navigating fast-paced retail environments, maintaining confidentiality, and testifying when required, with state licensing

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft with sound judgement and compliant procedures in high shrinkage areas.
• Identify theft trends using technology, reporting, and surveillance tactics.
• Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans and standards.
• Identify, escalate, and support internal theft investigations via reporting and surveillance systems.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP leadership and investigation teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft activity and aid investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to view merchandise movement and support investigations.
• Maintain safety and security of customers, employees, and store; respond to incidents and escalate when needed.
• Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness training with store teams.
• Serve on the store Emergency Response Team and participate in emergency training including First Aid.
• Prepare prompt, complete reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, policy violations, safety events, etc.
• Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, retailers, and local law enforcement.
