Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection professional to protect customers, employees and merchandise while reducing shrinkage.

The role partners with the Emergency Response Team to prepare for and respond to emergencies and to investigate theft using surveillance and RFID data. The ideal candidate will have strong communication, confidentiality, and decision-making skills, plus the ability to work a flexible schedule and collaborate with law enforcement when needed.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft by using good judgment and policy-compliant apprehensions.
• Identify theft trends via technology, reporting and surveillance.
• Lead shrinkage reduction through action plans and standards.
• Support internal theft investigations with reporting and surveillance systems.
• Investigate internal theft with evidence gathering and partnerships with AP leadership and Investigation teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft and support investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to track merchandise movement.
• Maintain safety and security of customers and staff; respond to incidents.
• Lead security audits and shrinkage awareness in-store.
• Serve on store Emergency Response Team and participate in security training.
• Prepare and submit prompt reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations, and policy violations.
• Testify in court when summoned.
• Build partnerships with store leaders and local law enforcement.
