Job summary

Macy's, Mall of New Hampshire, is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to safeguard assets and maintain a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. The role involves surveillance, de-escalation, and collaboration with store teams and local law enforcement to deter theft and resolve incidents.

Full-time schedule typically requires 30+ hours weekly with weekend shifts; benefits include health coverage, 401(k) match, PTO, and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must obtain and maintain required licenses, trainings, and certifications.
• Flexible availability including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups of customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work as part of a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Use surveillance techniques to help identify and apprehend individuals who shoplift and dishonest employees.
• Understand and leverage de-escalation tools to provide a safe environment.
• Recover stolen merchandise.
• Research and provide statements and evidence to support investigations.
• Prepare reports on theft incidents, investigations and audits.
• Maintain compliance with law and company policies regarding apprehensions and evidence.
• Build partnerships with store colleagues and law enforcement.
• Testify in court for criminal and civil cases.
• Train colleagues on protocols to protect assets.
• Respond to alarm conditions and handle special assignments.
• Foster an environment of acceptance and respect with colleagues, customers, and communities.
