Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to help identify and deter theft, while partnering with store teams and law enforcement. You will use surveillance techniques and de-escalation skills to maintain a secure, customer-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to communicate with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Obtain and maintain required licenses, trainings, and certifications.
• For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License is required.

Responsibilities

• Use surveillance techniques to help identify and apprehend individuals who shoplift and dishonest employees.
• Understand and leverage de-escalation tools to provide a safe environment for customers and colleagues.
• Recover stolen merchandise and prepare investigative statements.
• Maintain reports on theft incidents, investigations and audits.
• Testify in court for criminal and civil cases; train colleagues on protocols.
• Respond to alarm conditions and participate in special assignments.
