Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to protect assets, reduce shrink, and maintain a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. You will use surveillance, investigative tools, and collaborate with store teams and law enforcement to identify theft and respond to incidents.

This role requires strong judgment, clear documentation, and the ability to work weekends. For New York locations a NY Security Guard License may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to observe, identify, and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment.
• Strong communication skills with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement.
• Ability to use sound judgment and de-escalation tools to maintain a safe environment.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify, investigate, and respond to theft and dishonest activity.
• Support apprehensions of shoplifters and dishonest employees while following policies.
• Prepare reports and evidence to support investigations and audits.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and legal standards.
• Build partnerships with store teams and law enforcement.
• Provide testimony in court when needed.
• Respond to alarm calls and assist with first aid as needed.
