Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to help protect assets, reduce shrink, and maintain a safe, customer-focused shopping environment. You will use surveillance, investigative tools, and partnerships with store teams and law enforcement to identify theft, recover merchandise, and protect customers and colleagues.

You will join a team that values de-escalation, integrity, and strong teamwork as you respond to incidents, prepare documentation, and support investigations.

Qualifications

• Observe, identify and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment.
• Strong communication with customers, colleagues and law enforcement.
• Ability to use de-escalation tools and sound judgment.
• Handle proprietary and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
• New York license required for NY vacancies.

Responsibilities

• Use surveillance and reporting systems to identify theft and shortages.
• Partner with Asset Protection leaders, store teams and law enforcement.
• Prepare documentation and evidence for investigations and audits.
• Support investigations and legal proceedings with clear statements.
• Respond to alarm calls and assist with first aid as needed.
