Job summary

Northern Virginia Community College is seeking an Inventory Specialist to track and receive assets, ensuring accurate recording in inventory systems and managing the College Physical Inventory process.

The role includes reconciling reports, supporting Storeroom Managers, training users, and coordinating with Accounts Payable. Occasional travel to NOVA campuses is required; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of college administration.
• Ability to analyze data and work independently to meet inventory goals.
• Experience with warehouse or inventory operations and asset management.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Property Control Manager with financial accounting of fixed assets transactions.
• Maintain central inventory database across college locations.
• Prepare reconciliation reports and analysis for the Physical Inventory.
• Identify fixed assets received but not reported to the Property Control Office.
• Guide Storeroom Managers and end-users on tag submissions and financial documentation.
• Train AIS and eVA users to ensure inventory record accuracy.
• Prepare financial fixed assets reports for audits and internal review.
• Coordinate payment information with Accounts Payable for fixed assets receiving transactions.
• Cross-train to support Warehouse Services and mailroom operations when needed.
