Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria, IL is seeking an Assembly and Test Specialist to improve process efficiency by performing routine assembly and test of prime product components.

Training is paid and conducted during 1st shift for 4–6 weeks at the facility. You will operate test machines, prepare products for shipping, disassemble and reassemble assemblies for repairs, and may use a remote crane to move prime products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• A mechanical background or industrial assembly experiences.
• Good communication skills and strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
• Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.
• Caterpillar will train applicants who have a strong employment history and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assembling / testing, reworking and repairing machine components.
• Operate test machines to test final drive assemblies.
• Prepare prime products and attachments for shipping.
• Performs required salvage operations in assembly areas as necessary.
• Disassemble and reassemble complex assemblies to repair or replace damages component parts.
• May operate remote control crane to specially equipped vehicles to transport prime product.
