Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria is hiring for 1st or 2nd Shift - Supplemental Assembly and Test Specialists. Pay is $23.22 per hour plus a $1.00 per hour shift differential; shift is Monday–Friday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This supplemental role offers a minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits.

You will perform routing functions to assemble and test machine components, with responsibilities including quality adherence, process improvement, and reporting downtime to the supervisor.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment or a demonstrated mechanical aptitude
• Top candidates will also have: Previous Assembly Experience in manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

• Assembling / testing, reworking and repairing machine components
• Performing production based on schedule and continuously improving process efficiency
• Ensuring adherence to Standard Work Sheet to achieve quality products and avoid quality issues
• Participating in pre-shift Process Improvement Dialogue (PID) & Continuous Improvement (CI), raising, submitting issues and suggestions, and following up requirements from supervisor
• Providing timely reports to operation supervisor or team lead on material availability and equipment downtime
• Identifying specification gaps and root causes and making adjustments to meet engineering test specifications
