Job summary

nVent in Solon, IA is seeking an Assembly Team Lead to ensure uninterrupted production flow, mentor staff, and escalate issues to resolve faults quickly. You will coach on-the-job training and drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and delivery.

This role requires 8+ years in manufacturing, strong leadership, lean knowledge, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams. You’ll set up, troubleshoot, and coordinate staffing to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 8+ years Manufacturing or Production experience.
• Ability to lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to coach and develop others.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary backup to the Production Supervisor for all assigned departments.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to staff.
• Lead audits on production, safety, and quality processes.
• Be first point of contact in escalation procedures; communicate with resources to resolve issues.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean activities (5S, Kaizen).
• Assign work, remove roadblocks, and ensure daily production goals are met.
• Coordinate material and information flow within and outside the work area.
• Collaborate with leadership to align teams on production status.
• Report on machine and process issues and support safety/quality resolutions.
• Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot processes; escalate non-conformities.
• Adjust staffing as needed to meet material, machine, or labor changes.
• Lead safety, quality, and performance standards.
• Assist with shift start-up, attendance, inspections, and training.
• Create Excel reports for daily production and attendance.
• Track production schedules for Assembly and related areas.
• Participate in daily production meetings and support material handlers.
