Job summary

nVent is seeking a hands-on leader to run daily assembly operations at our Blaine, MN site. You will ensure safety, quality, productivity and on-time delivery while coaching teams and enforcing EHS policies. The role emphasizes continuous improvement and visual management to drive performance.

You will coordinate training, monitor material flow, and support adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations, promoting teamwork and accountability across the site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in an industrial environment with a strong emphasis on safety and environmental compliance.
• Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, squat, and kneel while inspecting equipment, storage areas, and incident scenes.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding to access elevated work areas.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Flexibility to work overtime and assigned shifts, including weekends, as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily assembly operations while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals are achieved.
• Promote a strong safety culture through active floor presence, employee coaching, and consistent enforcement of EHS policies and procedures.
• Conduct safety observations, workplace inspections, risk assessments, and ergonomic evaluations to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and EHS reporting requirements.
• Coordinate employee training, onboarding, and cross-training to ensure safe work practices and adherence to standardized procedures.
• Monitor production performance and material flow, using visual management tools to communicate expectations and results.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Lean manufacturing, Kaizen activities, and employee involvement in problem-solving efforts.
• Support compliance with company policies and applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations while fostering accountability, teamwork, and employee engagement.
