Job summary

Spectra-Tech Manufacturing Inc. in Batavia Township, OH, seeks a hand assembler to work on post-surface mount boards by following written work instructions. You will read values, polarity, and orientation of thru-hole components and reference assembly drawings to verify part numbers.

Starting pay is $17.50/hr with a $500 signing bonus and a $100/month attendance bonus. Fridays off; hours Mon-Thu 3:00pm–1:45am. Training provided; benefits include PTO, medical/dental, and 401(k) matching.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in production assembly preferred; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Identify and read values, polarity, and orientation of thru-hole components.
• Identify orientation and polarity of components according to PCB for thru-hole.
• Read assembly drawings to identify part numbers for assembly.
• Understand IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
• Utilize basic equipment and specialized machinery as directed.
• Assist in training other assemblers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary

Perform hand assembly work on post-surface mount circuit boards by following detailed written work instructions.

Responsibilities/ Principal Duties

• Identify and read values, polarity, and orientation of thru-hole components.
• Identify orientation and polarity of components according to the printed circuit board for thru-hole.
• Ability to read assembly drawings to identify part numbers for assembly.
• Basic understanding of the IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
• Utilize basic equipment.
• Utilize specialized equipment and/or machines as specified by management.
• Assist in the training of other assemblers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience

prefer experience with production assembly process – Spectra-Tech will train as needed.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with frequent contact with others. Job requires prolonged sitting, standing and frequent bending, stooping, and stretching. Manual dexterity is crucial in the placement and handling of thru-hole components. Good eyesight is necessary for identifying components and their placement. Occasional light lifting will be required.

Waiver

This position may be filled by an applicant without meeting all qualifications with Ownership Group review and approval.

Equipment

Training will be given in the use of production equipment.

Work Environment

Job functions will be performed in and around production.

Internal Contacts

This position will interface with all areas of the manufacturing workforce and management team.
