Job summary

Spectra-Tech Manufacturing Inc. in Batavia Township, Ohio, is seeking a hand assembly worker to assemble post-surface mount circuit boards by following detailed written work instructions.

Starting pay is $17.00 per hour and up based on experience. The position offers a $500 hiring/retention bonus and a $100 monthly Perfect Attendance Award. Hours are Monday through Thursday 6:00am–3:15pm and Friday 6:00am–12:00pm, with every Friday off at noon.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Prefer experience with production assembly process; Spectra-Tech will train as needed.
• Physical/cognitive: factory environment with standing, bending, manual dexterity.

Responsibilities

• Identify and read values, polarity and orientation of thru-hole components (capacitors, resistors, transistors, ICs).
• Identify orientation and polarity of components in reference to the PCB for thru-hole.
• Read assembly drawings and utilize a BOM to identify customer part numbers for assembly.
• Verify thru-hole part values and correct part location placement.
• Basic understanding of IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
• Utilize basic equipment to complete final assembly (hot glue, clipping, masking).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Perform hand assembly work on post-surface mount circuit boards by following detailed written work instructions.

Responsibilities / Principal Duties

• Identify and read the values, polarity and orientation of thru-hole components I.E.) Capacitors, Resistors, Transistors, IC’s etc.
• Identify the orientation and polarity of components in reference to the printed circuit board for thru-hole.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and utilize a Bill of Materials to identify customer part numbers for assembly.
• Verify thru-hole part values and correct part location placement.
• Basic understanding of the IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
• Utilize basic equipment necessary to complete the product’s final assembly, including hot glue, clipping, masking, etc., as needed.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

• Physical/Cognitive Requirements: Work is performed in a climate controlled manufacturing environment with frequent contact with others. Job requires prolonged sitting, standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching. Manual dexterity is crucial in the placement and handling of thru-hole components. Good eyesight is necessary for identifying components and their placement. Occasional light lifting will be required.
• Equipment: Training will be given in the use of production equipment.
