Job summary

Spectra-Tech Manufacturing Inc. seeks a hand assembler to work on post-surface mount circuit boards, following detailed work instructions. You will read values, polarity and orientation of thru-hole components and verify part placements on PCBs, using BOMs and drawings.

Training is provided, with a focus on quality and accuracy. The position offers a $17.00/hr starting pay, eligibility for a $500 signing/retention bonus, a $100 monthly perfect attendance award, and Fridays off.

Qualifications

• Performs hand assembly on post-surface mount circuit boards following written work instructions.
• Prefers experience with production assembly; training provided by Spectra-Tech.
• Reads values, polarity and orientation of thru-hole components.
• Reads assembly drawings and BOM to identify part numbers for assembly.
• Understands IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.

Responsibilities

• Identify and read values, polarity and orientation of thru-hole components.
• Identify the orientation and polarity of components relative to the PCB for thru-hole.
• Read assembly drawings and use BOM to identify customer part numbers for assembly.
• Verify thru-hole part values and correct part placements.
• Maintain basic understanding of IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
• Use basic equipment for final assembly (hot glue, clipping, masking).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Perform hand assembly work on post-surface mount circuit boards by following detailed written work instructions.

Responsibilities/Principal Duties

• Identify and read the values, polarity and orientation of thru-hole components I.E.) Capacitors, Resistors, Transistors, IC’s etc.
• Identify the orientation and polarity of components in reference to the printed circuit board for thru-hole.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and utilize a Bill of Materials to identify customer part numbers for assembly.
• Verify thru-hole part values and correct part location placement.
• Basic understanding of the IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
• Utilize basic equipment necessary to complete the product’s final assembly, including hot glue, clipping, masking, etc., as needed.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements

Work is performed in a climate controlled manufacturing environment with frequent contact with others. Job requires prolonged sitting, standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching. Manual dexterity is crucial in the placement and handling of thru-hole components. Good eyesight is necessary for identifying components and there placement. Occasional light lifting will be required.
