Job summary

Dollar General in Chappell, NE seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This role is a developmental step for future Store Manager responsibilities and is temporary.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, in-stock targets, cash handling, opening/closing, and maintaining a safe, well-organized store. Travel to other stores may be required.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting safety rules, manuals and diagrams.
• Ability to perform basic math and percentage calculations.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stock presentation according to guidelines.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and act as a store role model.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposits and cashier accountability.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review sales, labor, profitability and inventory trends.
