Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in the effective implementation of store processes, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service. This role is used to foster external candidate development for the Store Manager position and is held for a limited period.

Responsibilities include assisting in recruiting, merchandising, inventory management, cash handling, and daily store operations, with occasional travel to other stores as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in retail is preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview, and hire staff.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Understanding of store merchandising and inventory processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Support merchandising and staging of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Ensure store security and cash control procedures.
• Participate in opening and closing activities.
• Support store operations in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
