Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in executing store processes, supervising staff, handling inventory, stocking, and paperwork. This role is designed to develop external candidates for future Store Manager positions, for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and cash handling while upholding store procedures and safety standards, including opening/closing duties and bank deposits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or strongly preferred.
• Experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Familiarity with inventory management practices and cashier controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to store manager direction.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store safety.
• Adhere to company policies and cash handling procedures.
• Participate in opening/closing activities and bank deposits.
