Job summary

The Dollar General Staunton, VA location is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in all store processes, supervising staff, stocking, inventory, and receiving. This role is designed to develop an external candidate for the Store Manager track for a limited period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience preferred for external candidates.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Ability to recruit, interview and train staff.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Bilingual Spanish skills may be preferred at some stores.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising and stock presentation.
• Assist in inventory management including damages and markdowns.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide customer service leadership and store operations.
• Support store opening and closing activities.
• Maintain financial controls and cash handling compliance.
• Ensure clean, safe store environment.
