Job summary

CVS Health Corporation in the United States is seeking a 3rd year Pharmacy Intern to apply classroom learning in real-world pharmacy practice. Under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist, you will participate in a structured training roadmap across store, district, and regional operations.

You will assist with prescription processing, patient counseling, immunizations where allowed, and everyday pharmacy duties while delivering caring service that meets patient needs.

Qualifications

• Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern/technician licensure as required.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by following all SOPs at each workstation to help pharmacists and technicians manage patient health.
• Following pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences with empathy and care across pick-up, drive-thru, and phone.
• Counseling patients and gathering medical history information when appropriate under supervision.
• Taking telephonic prescriptions and clarifying prescriptions with prescribers when allowed by state regulations.
• Providing coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members and sharing best practices.
• Completing basic inventory activities and supporting cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and stocking.
• Traveling to stores in the market to cover shifts as needed by the business.
• Complying with federal, state, and local laws and CVS policies to ensure safety and privacy.
• Delivering immunizations and other patient health services where permitted by law and training.
