Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a trained-operator 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans using Artec Leo and process data into meshes, point clouds, and CAD files. You will verify data on site, then finalize deliverables and coordinate with project teams.

You will travel to regional hubs, maintain equipment, and ensure safety on active sites while meeting client specifications and project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience operating handheld structured-light or laser scanners on real projects.
• Familiarity with Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.
• Familiarity with reading structural or fabrication drawings.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar and embeds before concrete placement and other structures.
• Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
• Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
• Process scans: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, crack maps, and coordinate reports against drawings or CAD.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
