Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a trained handheld 3D scanning technician to capture data on rebar mats, pipes, beams, and machine parts. You will process data in Artec Studio and deliver scan-to-CAD results for clients, with on-site checks and documentation.

Role requires site presence, safety compliance, and willingness to travel between regional hubs. The position offers hourly pay and potential for growth into lead technician or regional roles, with company-supported certifications.

Qualifications

• HANDHELD scanner experience on real projects.
• Proficient in Artec Studio or similar processing software.
• Ability to read structural/fabrication drawings.
• Comfortable on active construction sites and outdoors.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel.
• Experience with scan-to-CAD or metrology reporting is a plus.
• ACI, NICET, or ICC certifications sponsored by the company.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform handheld scans of rebar, embeds, structures.
• Control drift on large objects and verify captures on site.
• Process scans in Artec Studio; export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD.
• Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates.
• Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering.
• Document procedures and maintain equipment/calibration records.
• Coordinate access, permits, and site safety with contacts.
• Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
