Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to operate handheld scanners on diverse projects, from rebar mats to corroded pipes. You will capture data on site, process with Artec Studio, and deliver meshes and CAD-ready files for client use.

You should have hands-on experience with Artec Leo/Eva or similar scanners, be comfortable on construction sites, and possess relevant certifications. Frequent regional travel and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

Experience operating handheld scanners on real projects (Artec Leo, Eva or Space Spider).
Knowledge of Artec Studio for processing, mesh cleanup, and export formats.
Ability to read structural or fabrication drawings and CAD data.
Willingness to travel to regional hubs and sites.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, and damaged structures.
Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlaps.
Verify capture completeness on site before leaving.
Process scans in Artec Studio; registration, fusion, cleanup, texture and export to STL/OBJ/E57/CAD.
Produce deviation maps, measurement reports, and coordinate reports against drawings.
Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
Document capture procedures and chain of custody on forensic matters.
Keep scanner, batteries, and calibration records organized.
Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts.
