Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a security professional at UAB St. Vincent's St.Clair to provide security services for staff and visitors, monitor threats, and respond to incidents ensuring a safe environment.

The role requires evening hours (1:00 PM–9:00 PM), a BLS certification within 30 days, Alabama concealed carry permit, and a valid Alabama driver’s license. Education of a high school diploma or equivalent or related experience is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
• Perform proactive monitoring and timely responses to potential/actual security threats.
• Investigate, document and manage security incidents and hazards.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures regarding alarms and disaster preparedness; facilitate drills.
• Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
• Operate in a safe and responsible manner to avoid accidents and traffic or parking violations.

Job Description

• Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• In state (Alabama) concealed carry weapons permit required.
• Drivers License credentialed from the Alabama Department of Motor Vehicles required.
• Security Professional preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
• Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
