Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking an experienced RN to join the OB Emergency Department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The role focuses on coordinating multidisciplinary care, implementing care plans, and ensuring accurate orders are executed.

This position requires strong teamwork to support patient discharge planning and ongoing care needs. Eligible candidates will hold a nursing diploma, be licensed as an APRN in Alabama, and have BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Advanced Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record, and communicate patient condition.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well‑coordinated patient care.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
