Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Service to the Armed Forces Specialist, Non-Mobile, at Walter Reed Medical Center. This role oversees SAF/IS programs, volunteer management, and service delivery for service members, veterans, and families, with deployment readiness requirements.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's degree and at least five years of related experience, strong public speaking and communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Strong communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and balance multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with military culture, regulations and protocol is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Manages and administers the delivery of American Red Cross services to meet the needs of military members, veterans, and their families.
• Manage SAF/IS programs and services, including IHL, YAC, and RFL within jurisdiction, through volunteers and cross-department collaboration.
• Build strong relationships with military leadership and installation partners.
• Coordinate deployments, educational briefings, community workshops, and events.
• Provide family support services including wellness check-ins and emergency communications.
• Update SAF Hero Care Network rosters and case logs per mission guidelines.
• Promote International Services programs within the local community.
