Job summary

Walden Security is recruiting experienced Court Security Officers to provide armed security for courthouses under the USMS contract. Officers will enforce federal law, control access, and safeguard court facilities.

Responsibilities include entrance control, roving patrols, stationary posts, escort duties, and reporting. Eligible candidates must have a GED, 3 years of verifiable law enforcement/military experience, a valid driver’s license, DOJ clearance, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent within the last seven years, with general arrest authority.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English; must be able to interpret rules and procedures.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record for the past five years; DOJ clearance; completion of a certified law enforcement training academy.
• Must be at least 21 years old; able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Meet medical standards per USMS; reasonable accommodations possible.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control using screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items.
• Conduct roving patrols of court facilities and grounds per post orders.
• Stand at stationary posts including courtrooms, judge chambers, jury rooms and CCTV monitoring.
• Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors and designated individuals.
• Direct traffic and manage parking/lighting at court facilities as described in procedures.
• Enforce federal law and court rules while safeguarding people and property.
• Prepare reports on labor hours, incidents, threats, or other contract performance issues.
• Secure unattended courtrooms, inspect rooms, test security devices, and support court operations.
• Maintain order and protect court proceedings as circumstances require.
