Job summary

Ilitch Sports + Entertainment is seeking an ambassador to provide first-class customer service at events. You will welcome guests, assist with seating, monitor crowd behavior, and act as the first responder to issues in the seating area.

You will also scan tickets, guard entrances, and engage guests throughout events. The role requires a high school diploma and 1–2 years in customer service, with strong reading, basic arithmetic, and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and one to two years of customer service related experience is required.
• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests and assist them with finding their seat and answering questions.
• Monitor crowd behavior to ensure guests enjoy the event without disruption.
• Be the first responder to issues in seating area and summon assistance when necessary.
• Keep seating area safe and organized and ensure guests are in the proper seat.
• Scan tickets at entry to prevent admittance without a valid ticket.
• Guard doors and stairways to keep guests in the appropriate areas.
• Engage guests and recognize regulars by name when appropriate.
• Be available to work all ticketed events.
• Learn seating, layout, and policies of each venue; think critically and problem solve.
