Job summary

Ross Stores, Inc. is seeking an Area Supervisor to oversee a defined store area and assist in overall operations as Manager on Duty. You will lead Associates, ensure safe shopping environments, and maintain brand presentation while upholding company policies.

Key responsibilities include opening/closing the store, supervising staff, monitoring loss prevention, and ensuring efficient front-end operations. Evening and weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English.
• Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, supervise Associates, and manage operations as Manager on Duty.
• Ensure safe and secure environment and comprehensive loss prevention practices.
• Maintain merchandise presentation, cleanliness and back-room organization.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain friendly store atmosphere.
• Train and coach Associates on cash handling, POS usage, and store procedures.
• Assist in payroll, scheduling, and administrative duties as assigned by Store Manager.
